Obituary of Heliodoro Rey

Heliodoro "Lolo" Rey July 03, 1934 - January 14, 2014 Funeral services for Heliodoro “Lolo” Rey, 79, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Carlos Pando Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mr. Rey was born in Ft. Stockton, Texas on July 3, 1934 to Refugio and Anita (Rodriguez) Rey and passed away at his home on January 14, 2014. He was raised in West Texas and learned to drive tractors when he was a little boy five years of age. He married Reyes Pando in Ft. Stockton on October 28, 1953. Mr. Rey worked for Hobbs Cable Service in the oilfield for seventeen years before retiring and was known for being a hard worker. He enjoyed wrestling, boxing and most all sports and really liked the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his family very much and worked hard to care for them. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson: Daniel Rey. He is survived by his wife Reyes Rey of the home; four sons: Henry and wife Armida Rey of Lovington; Heliodoro “Lolo” and wife Debbie Rey of Ft. Worth, TX, Carlos and wife Brenda Rey of Farmington, NM and Tony and wife Delma Rey of Roswell, NM; three daughters: Nina and husband Ramon Acosta of Lovington; Mary Ann Hodges of Lovington and Carolina and husband Johnny Lopez of Hobbs, NM; four brothers: Refugio Jr and wife Emma Rey of Monahans, TX; Raul and wife Berta Rey of Imperial, TX; David and wife Margie Rey of Wink, TX and Joe Rey of Imperial, TX; three sisters: Juanita and husband Elauterio Tarin of Odessa, TX; Dora and husband Candido Gutierrez of Monahans, TX and Hortencia and husband Lucas Aranda of Portales, NM. Also twenty two grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren survive him. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
