Obituary of Carl Wayne Richardson

Carl "Dick" Wayne Richardson January 12, 1939 - September 28, 2009 Funeral services for Carl Wayne “Dick” Richardson, 70, of Lubbock, Texas will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Skip Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29th from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 8 am until service time. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Dick was born January 12, 1939 in Morton, Texas to Bernal Anson & Gertrude (Hall) Richardson and passed away at his residence on Monday, September 28, 2009. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Hillard on February 23, 1963 in Lovington, NM. He was a resident of Hobbs, NM for 43 years before moving to Lubbock in 2008. Dick was an electrician and worked for several contractors in Hobbs before his retirement. He had lived in Lovington during part of his school years and graduated from Lovington High School in 1957. He was a former member of the Hobbs Lions Club, a member of Taylor Street Church of Christ and enjoyed traveling when his health permitted. He especially enjoyed being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harry Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home, 2 sons, Jimmy Richardson of Hobbs, NM and Michael and wife Shelley Richardson of Lubbock, TX., one brother, Joe and wife Janette Richardson of Dallas, TX., four grandchildren, Zachary Richardson who is serving in Afghanistan, Rebekkah Richardson of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Kyleigh and Trace Richardson of Lubbock, TX.
