Obituary of Darron Dion Roberts

Darron Dion Roberts November 17, 1969 - May 24, 2018 Funeral services for Darron Dion Roberts, 48, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Baptist Church with David Stewart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Darron was born on November 17, 1969 in Denton, Texas to Bill and Ina (Buntin) Roberts and passed away on May 24, 2018 at his residence. He had lived in Lovington for forty-six years and attended school in Lovington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in the mountains, four wheeling, and motorcross racing. He was presently employed by Apache Oil and had also been employed previously by Lea County Electric, Devon and Mack Chase. He was a good mechanic and could tear apart and rebuild anything. He had a good sense of humor and was witty and funny and could keep you laughing. He married Shannon Laughrin in Lovington on April 10, 1993 and they have shared 25 years of life and family together. Surviving him is his wife: Shannon Roberts of Lovington, NM; one son: Austin Roberts of Lovington; one daughter: Presley Roberts and her significant other, Garret Stewart of Lovington; his mother: Ina Baxter of Lovington; his father: Billy and wife Kathy Roberts of Lovington; one brother: Daylon and wife Bobbi Roberts of Lovington; one sister: Tammy Roberts of Lampasas, TX; and one granddaughter: Maisyn Stewart. Also his mother-in-law: Sherron Little of Lovington and his father-in law: Bob and wife Barbara Laughrin of Brawley, CA and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Nor-Lea Cancer Foundation, 1600 North Main, Lovington, NM 88260. Visitation will be on Monday, May 28th from 1:00 -6:00 pm. The family will be in residence at the funeral home from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
