Obituary of Jarred Seth Rogers

Jarred Seth Rogers October 19, 1999 - August 13, 2017 Funeral services for Jarred Seth Rogers, 17, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Alonzo Quinones officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Jarred was born on October 19, 1999 in Hobbs, NM and passed away on August 13, 2017 at his home. Jarred started school in Lovington and fought hard to keep going, after being diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. He attended school until his sophomore year when his MD progressed to a point that he needed to be at home. He loved building things, fishing, dancing, music, and he loved history. His wish was granted when he wanted to go to Washington and see the Arlington Cemetery and the Washington Monument and other historical sites. Jarred had a contagious smile and great dimples that everyone loved and was a very respectful young man. His friends all called him “Bubba”. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Juan and Eva Rueda and Petra Velasquez. Surviving him are his parents: Nick and Jodi Canava of Lovington; two brothers: Julian and wife Nicole Rueda and Jonnus and wife Calynn Rueda of Lovington; sister: Dominique Canava of Austin, TX; grandparents: Efrain and Juanita Rueda; one nephew: Jaxson Rueda and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 11:00 am until Rosary at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
