Obituary of Ruben Saenz

Ruben Saenz January 16, 1955 - November 10, 2016 Funeral services for Ruben C. Saenz, 61, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Saenz was born on January 16, 1955 in Mission, TX to Saturnino Saenz Salinas and Angelita Champion and passed away at his home in Lovington on November 10, 2016. Ruben enjoyed playing cards and pool and going to bingo but really loved the music of Antonio Agullar and he liked to dance. He worked in the oilfield on drilling rigs and pulling units all of his life. Ruben also liked making eagles out of newspaper. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter: Faith Angel Zabala and one step-grandaughter: Zyanayah Hernandez. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; four daughters: Veronica Saenz and Chris Mora of Albuquerque, Anabel Saenz also of Albuquerque, June Saenz of San Antonio, TX and Ruby Luna of Victoria, TX; three step-daughters: Leticia Martinez of Lovington, Liza and Lori Elizondo of Hobbs: four brothers: Johnny (Patty) Saenz of Gillette, WY, Homer and Jessie Saenz of Lovington, Joe and (Nancy) Saenz of Lovington and a step-brother: Arturo (Crystal) Rodriguez of Carlsbad; five sisters: Beatrice (Lynn) Noteboom of Buffalo, WY, Mary Rodriguez of Lovington, Nellie (Ralph) England of Portales, NM, Irma (Rafael) Valderez of Lovington and Elda Saenz of Lovington; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15th from noon till Rosary time at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
