Obituary of Juan Jesus Salazar

Juan Jesus "Johnny" Salazar May 11, 1960 - November 07, 2009 Funeral Mass for Johnny Salazar, 49, will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Jal, NM at 1:00 pm with burial following at Jal Cemetery. He was born May 11, 1960 in Fort Stockton, TX to Tony and Mary Salazar and he passed away on November 7, 2009 in Oro Valley, AZ after a sudden illness. Johnny grew up in Jal, NM and attended public school there. He received certification from Foley, Briggs and Stratton and Toro-Jacobson. He was a small engine mechanic for 10 years. He was in Golden Gloves boxing for several years and he enjoyed working with animals, but most of all he enjoyed playing with his grandkids. He married Charlie (Charlotte) Clark in Lovington, NM on April 20, 1979. Johnny will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He was a great husband, father, papa, son, brother and uncle. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 13 at St. Cecilia’s . He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Benny Gomez. He is survived by his wife, Charlie of Oro Valley, AZ, his mother, Mary Salazar of Jal; two sons: Joseph and Jeremy Salazar; three brothers: Joe and Ricky Abeyta and Mike Salazar and five sisters: Rosie Bowen, Cynthia Lacy, Sandra Russell, Abby Lopez and Sarah Marquez; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2009 from noon until rosary time at St. Cecilia’s.
