Zelma Ree Teague February 11, 1935 - February 08, 2017 Funeral services for Zelma Ree Wade Teague, 81, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Bro. Harry Pittam officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Zelma was born on February 11, 1935 in Shannon, Texas to Ramon Earl and Hettie Mae (Lyles) Hilburn and passed away at Good Samaritan Center on February 8, 2017. She lived on her family’s ranch about thirteen miles outside of Lovington when she was younger and started first grade here and also attended some of her school years in Tatum. She lived in Bowie, AZ for forty plus years of her life. Zelma liked watching the politics and elections on TV and was very knowledgeable about what was going on. One of her greatest pleasures was dancing, especially waltzing and she truly liked to shop. Traveling in the South was a favorite time for her and she liked going to Atlanta, GA and Florida the most. Zelma was very religious and was at the church every time the door was open when she was able. The church guided her life and she was a great Bible scholar. She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands, Charles Wade and George Teague; one daughter: Deborah Wylie; one sister: Vada Gilcrest and one brother: Linden Hilburn. Surviving her is her daughter: Pamela and husband John Lawson of Elk Grove, CA; two sisters: Virgie Parchman of San Antonio, TX and Thelma and husband Glenn Scott of Lovington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
