Obituary of Robert Wayne Williams

Robert Wayne Williams March 09, 1957 - February 08, 2014 Funeral services for Robert Wayne Williams, 56, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at New Beginnings Church with Pastor David Villar officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Robert was born on March 9, 1957 in Kermit, Texas to Wayne Williams and Ellen Williams Phillips and passed away on February 8, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. He lived in Kermit then Lamar, Colorado and moved to Lovington in 1973 and graduated from school in Lovington. He loved fishing and hunting and gardening. He would give away a lot of his garden veggies to his friends and would have them ready for them to fix instead of them having to shell the peas or whatever. He enjoyed making knives and hunting and making arrowheads. Robert attended New Beginnings Church and was a member of the Emmaus Community. He loved his family, was a giving person and he had a big heart. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, Ricky Allan Williams, his grandmother, Mary Crawford and his stepfather, Bob Dietz and stepbrother, Steve Phillips. He is survived by his mother and stepfather: Ellen and Gerald Phillips of Lovington; his son: Chad Ian Williams of Lovington; one daughter: Lindsey “Wousams” Williams of Lovington; stepbrother, Kent and wife DeDe Phillips of Alamogordo, NM; stepsister, Connie and husband Vance Jackson of Britt, Iowa; sister-in-law: Suzanne and husband Russell Norris of Lovington; the mother of his children: Debbie Williams of Lovington; stepchildren, Kelley Kirby and Casey Dominguez of Lovington; two nieces: Kelli Williams and Samantha Kaye Williams of Lovington and one nephew Bobby and fiancée Lindsey Hall of Denver, Colorado; step-nieces: Amber Phillips, Bethany and husband Joe Pray, Cassi Jackson, Haley Jackson and Taylor Phillips; step-nephews: Aaron Phillips, Garrett Phillips and Nate Jackson. Also three grandchildren: Ethan Cole Williams, Lyla Dianne Chacon and Alexis Grace Chacon; three aunts: Minnie Rogers of Lockhart, TX, Maxine Kellar of Brownwood,TX, Inez Williams of San Antonio, TX; two uncles: Francis Cox of Roswell, NM and Cecil Williams of Stonewall, Louisiana and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hearts Desire, 201 West Ave D, Lovington, NM 88260. Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm with the family in residence from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
