Obituary of Richard Leon Bohannon

Richard Leon Bohannon May 09, 1939 - August 10, 2008 Funeral services for Richard Leon Bohannon, 69, of Lovington will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Russell Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mr. Bohannon was born on May 9, 1939 in Denver, Colorado. He passed away on August 10, 2008 in Lovington, New Mexico. He married Brenda Buster Bohannon on May 30, 1964 in Lovington, New Mexico. Mr. Bohannon was raised in Eunice and Lovington. He raised horses and enjoyed riding, doing carpentry work, fishing and cards. He was a retired oilfield worker and he served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bohannon of the home; two sons, Richie Bohannon and wife Robin of Waco, Texas; Kris Bohannon of Lovington, New Mexico; three sisters, Loava Swaringin of Safford, Arizona; Pat Bruner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Judy Jones of Weirsdale, Florida; one brother, Leslie Bohannon of Snyder, Texas; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bohannon & Goldie Golden Bohannon Jones Ellis; one sister, Carolyn Potts.
