Obituary of William Lee Bonner

William Lee Bonner February 07, 1929 - May 25, 2011 Funeral services for William L. Bonner, 82, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at Third & Central Church of Christ with Bro. Jimmy Derrick officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Bonner was born on February 7, 1929 in Port Oklahoma to Benjamin Bonner and Dovie (Willingham) Bonner and passed away at Nor Lea Hospital on May 25, 2011. He married Wanda Pitt in Hobart, Oklahoma on September 23, 1950. Mr. Bonner moved to this area in the 1960 where he worked in the oilfield most of his life. He also ran a gas station and motel during his time in this area. He enjoyed wood working in his shop and he also enjoyed playing his guitar. Mr. Bonner also loved hunting, camping, and the great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jackie Bonner and one sister, Evelyn Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of Lovington NM, one son: Deral Bonner and wife Robbie of Lovington NM; two daughters: Lewana and husband Steven Cross of Lovington NM and Susie and husband Joel Rogers of Florida; Also surviving him are Five grandchildren and Eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2011 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. at Kirby-Smith Rogers Funeral Home.
