Obituary of Dena Gay Dumars

Funeral services for Dena Gay Dumars, 56, of Dexter, NM and formerly of Lovington, will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with The Reverend Stephen Deutsch officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Dena was born on October 15, 1962 in Tatum, NM to Willie M. and Margie (Crawford) Beeman and passed away on December 25, 2018 at her residence. Dena and her family moved to Washington State when she was very young and she grew up there on a farm and a dairy. She graduated from Pasco High School and later came to Lovington and Hobbs to live. She was employed by UPS in Hobbs before her marriage and also had a Sno-Cone Truck that she made many miles with, selling her sno-cones. After her marriage to Lyle Dumars in 1992 she moved to Dexter and became a homemaker and also, once again, took her sno-cone truck to make others happy. She was always ready to help at school when their son started school, and was available to take kids on field trips or parties at school or whatever was needed. Her passion was her family and her life revolved around them. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dexter and gave her son the distinction of getting herself and Lyle involved in the church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Lavoyda Lenard. Surviving her is her husband Lyle Dumars of Dexter, NM; one son: Aaron Dumars of Eastland, TX; two daughters: Shandra Eskins and husband Sean of Waukee, Iowa, and Anna Wyant and husband Donald of Albuquerque, NM; one brother: Troy Beeman of Pasco, Washington; three grandchildren: Ian Eskins, River Eskins and Kora Wyant. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
