Obituary of Toribio A. Arenibas

Services for Toribio A. Arenibas, 95, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Jesus Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Toribio was born April 16, 1923 in Vado de Piedras, Chihuahua, Mexico to Andres Corrales and Maria Alvarado (Brisenio) Arenibas and passed away on March 23, 2019 in Lovington. Toribio moved to California in 1964 then moved to Lovington, NM in 1980. He liked to fish, travel, visit with his family and go to Mexico. He traveled all over the states doing harvesting work and a lot of farm labor. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Ramona Arenivas; two sons: Gregorio Arenivas and Toribio Arenivas; one brother: Esteban Arenivas; three sisters: Amelia Hernandez, Amada Arevalo and Marcelina Zubia; one grandson: Christopher Ray Arenivas. Surviving him are three sons: Alonzo Arenivas of Roswell, NM, Jesus "Toots" Arenivas of Lovington, NM, and Raymundo Arenivas of Lovington, NM; six daughters: Maria Aguilar of Dexter, NM, Margarita Arenivas Navarro of Loving, NM, Maria Elida Bowles of New York, Louisa "Marina" Arenivas of Lovington, NM, Teresa Arenivas of Lovington, NM, Paula Alonzo of Lovington, NM; two sisters: Petra Hernandez of Lovington, NM and Andrea Michel of Lovington, NM; forty-one grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 1:00 pm until after the rosary at 7:00 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
